| I would like to get some advice on building a house. I never bought until now even though I am already 46 years old. I might have to move out of my rented property soon and I am now seriously considering buying. What do I need to know about this? Any advice is welcome. |

| Hi. First of all you should calculate the amount for which you could get a mortgage. This is 4 times your annual gross income although some mortgage lender will give you more (This is a gray area and I would advise you against doing so). You have to offer up a deposit of 10 per cent of the house too. |
