Any benefit from putting money offshore?

| From what I have seen on this and many other forums, having an offshore bank account is something that is very popular now. I have not got one myself, and I don't particularly see the need for one. Is there any actual benefit from putting money offshore. I mean, without breaking the law? |

| Having offshore bank accounts is sometimes almost essential for people who move around the world a lot for business reasons. I am in diplomacy myself, and I am never sure how long I will stay somewhere. Because of this, having an offshore bank account offers me flexibility to access my funds whenever I need. |
