| I have a company for last two years. Now I decide to do some advertising. However, I do not know much about marketing. How should I do marketing of my company? I don't know are there any marketing mistakes I should avoid. I am in a kind of hurry, therefore I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance. |

As a start up business, it is most important to keep the marketing costs low. You should avoid these costly mistakes:
1. You shouldn't try to sell to everybody. You need to zoom in to your target market.
2. You shouldn't be inconsistent in marketing message. Do not confuse your market or they will lose faith on you.
3. You shouldn't become dependent on one big client. If that customer decides to cancel you, you will go down. Therefore, take a good care of the big customer, but continue to source for others.
4. You must have a good after sales service. Your existing customers are your best customers and it is easier to sell to them.
5. You shoudn't selling features instead of selling benefit because customers are looking for solutions. Features say something about the product but benefit is the solution to their problems.
6. You should have a good sales script for your salespeople and train them to close sales over the phone.
