Building a house in my garden

| Hi everyone. I have quite a big back garden and the house in which I live I own outright. It has recently crossed my mind that I could actually build another house in the garden, something to leave to the children. The land is my property, so there should be no problem in getting a building permission, right? |

| Wrong. Assuming that you are, like me, living in England and not in let's say, Turkey, the Middle East or some Eastern European country. When travelling this is a phenomenon I came across rather a lot in the above mentioned areas. It results in "sight pollution", ie, having to look at ugly things. Fat chance our government will allow you to do something like that! |
