Can I Use Ltd. For The Name Of An LLC?

| Dear lonely heart. Today I have a business question for you. My friends and I have incorporated an LLC. As is to be expected, we had quite an argument about its name. As I trust you will agree the effect of a suitable name and its link to branding are important business factors. Because we are an LLC, I wanted the name to be followed by Ltd. Right? |

Dear searching soul  . The answer to your question is not as straight forward as you may think. First of all, it is usually regulated by every country's company laws. Therefore it is country specific! For example in South Africa all limited companies have Ltd. in their name. But depending on the company structure, there may be additional abbreviations applicable. Eg. a proprietary limited company is a Pty. Ltd. |
