| Last year my husband and I purchased our home. We were unable to get the mortgage deal in joint names due to his very poor credit history. Therefore, we had to take the mortgage in my name. Now we would like my husband's name on the mortgage. However, the bank told us that we could not do that. Why? Can I add a partner on my mortgage? |

| Late last year my wife and I purchased our first home together. Due to a very poor credit history we were unable to get the mortgage deal we wanted in joint names therefore had to take the mortgage out in my name. Now we are settled into our new home and we would like my wife's name on the mortgage. We want that for both her security and so that she really feels our house like her home too. Unfortunately, the bank says this is not possible. Her credit history is so poor they could not add her as a lender on the account. I have speaking with the land registry. I was advised that really the only thing we can really do is to apply for a 'homes rights notice'. |
