| Assalamu Alaykum. My name is Cadiz and I want to know if obtaining and buying premium bonds is consider as a haraam (a sin). I want to be a pride and real Muslim and I know that gambling is taking as one of the greatest haraams. Any kind of help will be of huge assistance to me. Stall well. |

| Alaykum Assalamu Cadiz. I think that you should first make sure what kind of premium bonds you are planning to buy. There are varieties of bonds. Those bonds that have been issued by the government and have been purchased by public are often put on lottery. That way prize money is given to all who have bought them. If you are panning to buy this kind of bonds I have to say that Islam has strict policy towards earning money trough interest. For that reason if you are not 100 sure that the bonds you are planning to invest in are not interest free I am suggesting not to deal with them on any ground. Do not forget the words of Al-Baraqarah that teach us that Satan drives those who are usurying. Mirsad. |
