Hello! My employer has been making payments on my pension scheme so far. He's been making these payments on NHS pension scheme. But, I'm not very convinced about this NHS pension. I started looking for another pension scheme and other possible options. But before I choose another pension program I would like to know is it possible to transfer NHS pension to another pension scheme? Could you please tell me something more about NHS pension?
It is very wise to think on time about your retirement days. The NHS pension is a large pension scheme for people who work in the health service. There are lots of benefits of this pension scheme. For example, there is a tax lump sum on retirement equal to three times the annual pension amount. Also, there is a life assurance of 2 years pay whilst working. The best thing is that all of these benefits are index linked and guaranteed. They are based on final salary and years of membership on the scheme. In order of getting larger benefits of the NHS pension scheme members are free to increase their contributions at any time they want. If you decide to leave the NHS scheme you may be able to transfer your benefits out of this pension scheme to another occupational pension scheme.
