I was out with my friends for a weekend, we had a good time, had a few drinks, and on my way home, weve been hit by a car thats been driving more on our side of the road, rather than its been driving on his. Ive tried to avoid this crash and nearly went off the road into a not so small channel that was on the side of the road, luckily I did manage to evade it, if not I wouldnt be here writing this lines. It wasnt my fault, guy whos been driving had too many drinks, not enough sleep, and he nearly fell asleep while driving. He confessed it was his mistake; I was pleased to hear that, he wasnt running from the place where accident happened, everybody seemed fine, just little scratch I had on my hands an legs, but my car was in very bad condition. The only problem I had is that my car havent been insured on my name, I was scared a little bit because of what might happen, I gave my story to police and everything, and I dont know what can happen now. Im just pleased its not my fault, otherwise I wouldnt know how everything will go through, I dont have an insurance, I dont know how heavy penalty would be.

It is a little bit complicated and risky for you not having an insurance, but its not to heavy and delicate problem, it happens! When accident do happen, and you cant avoid it, firstly make sure that everyone is alright, because human life is more precious than some minor scratch on a car, property can be replaced, and human life cant. Than you should exchange names, swap your licences; inform them of your insurance company phone number and name, so it can be legally regulated. But with your problem, where you dont have insurance for your car, its a little bit different procedure; it can be problem if you are the one who caused accident. If its not your problem, you should send a letter to the other party and ask for the cost of your repair. If they refuse to send an answer to your letter, you should go to a small court, pay small fee and let matter to be heard over Magistrate Court. There you will explain your version of events, they will tell their story, after that, Magistrates will conclude appropriate compensation. If they fail to pay, authority can seize their property to force the payment.
