Hello. My son is turning 18 next month, and he has been bugging me to get him a credit card for his birthday. He claims that all his friends already have credit cards. I was just wandering if it is more difficult to get a credit card for a young person (with no income), and if the limit is going to be lower than usual.

Yes, it is more difficult for a young person with no credit history (paying the bills) and no income; however, nowadays more and more banks have special offers for prospective students. Those offers have lower limits, and are suitable for (young) people who are going to use them responsibly. By using such credit cards a person can establish credit history and later apply for another type of credit card. Also it can be advisable for a young person to establish a sort of credit history. For example, get him a separate telephone line or cable TV or internet connection which they would pay. You will probably have to vouch for your son. And with that in mind you should be sure that he is responsible enough to be trusted with a credit card.
