Debit card never got charged?

| I am pretty aware of a difference between a credit and debit card but I also want to know if debit card ever got charged. Probably overdraft fee is being charged. And I assume that ATM fees are charged too but it is sometimes hard to find out if you are charged for ATM transactions. |

| As I can see, debit cards are beneficial to merchants because of instant payment and to banks because of processing fees. But from a consumer’s point of view no interest for payments, no penalties for late payments are very attractive. Overdraft is charged and so are ATMs depending on the bank and country. |
