| I have had a credit card at Capital One for a great number of years, and I have been relatively happy with them. However, lately I have been getting mail from them, in which they claim that I have some unpaid debt to settle. I do not take my bank accounts for granted, and I have always been careful. Is it possible they made a mistake? Should I contact them? |

| There are many things that could have gone wrong, which led to this mistake. To start with you have to make absolutely sure that you DID pay back the money you borrowed. You will need documentation that can prove your statement. Recently, there have been more and more claims from Capital One users quite similar to yours. With technology there are always things that can go wrong for no particular reason. After you have established that you are right to believe that you have no debt left, contact Capital One. By this you will not be acknowledging the debt. You will be seeking information. Try by the phone and by the mail. But you have to contact them. |
