| Hello there everybody! My name is Peter and I would appreciate if you could tell me something about currencies. What is the difference between decimal currency and Non-decimal currencies? Can you name me some of both types? Thank you in advance for your posts. I really appreciate and look forward to them. Bye! |

| Hello to you too, Peter. Well, this matter is quite simple and I’ll be glad to give you an explanation. Difference between decimal and non-decimal currencies is in their subtypes. Decimal currencies have sub-currencies which are usually their hundredth part. For example, one dollar has 100 cents. Dollar is a decimal currency. Non-decimal currencies do not have 100 sub-currencies, but some other number of them. Decimal currencies would be: dollar, pound, and euro etc. Non-decimal currencies are used only by two countries now. Those are Mauritania and Madagascar. They both have five sub-currencies. Non-decimal currencies were more present in the past, but the lost their significance over time. Well, that would be all from me. I hope that I was of some help to you. Bye! |
