| I am looking into the rules around peoples' wills and the tax implications around that. The Capital Gains Tax is especially interesting to me. If a will is altered by the executors through a deed of variation after a person has died, will that have any particular effect on the level of CGT? I am sure someone has already broached the subject but I would be happy to get some info. |

| I a not a tax expert so if any decision is to be made on the basis of this information, you would better consult a lawyer. My understand of the matter is that, if the Deed of Variation is brought within two years of the death of the person in question happening, it will be seen as not being a a disposal in terms of CGT. |
