| Hi. I am trying to find an apartment to rent. I have just moved to this country and I have no experience with renting here. Where I come from tenants have to leave a deposit to the landlord. Is that the case in the UK too? If so how much is it? I would be grateful for any tips. |

| Yes, I think landlord take these deposits anywhere in the world where you can rent a place. On top of that, if you rent through an agency you will have to pay them as well. Both of these expenses are usually the amount of one months rent. Take cash with you when looking at apartments as you might want to decide immediately and they wont keep the place on hold for you if you dont pay straight away. |
