| Hi. I have just moved to Ireland from the Uk and I am looking to all the financial issues around this. I have understood that you can get tax relief on medical expenses. Is that true and how does this work? I am hearing something like this for the first time but I must say that is doesn't really surprise me. The Irish government seems well organised and socially orientated. |

| Yes, is is true indeed. Mind you this only goes if you have not already been reimbursed for the same expenses before by your private health insurer. Otherwise there is a certain amount each year you can get back. The range of expenses on which you can claim back is quite wide and a full list is available from the internal revenue service. |
