I have recently been looking to start with investments. I have accumulated fair amount of assets and I have looking into the most efficient way to invest. I would like to know some basics of monetary politics, most particularly, some good book about inflation targeting. Thanks in advance. Any info will do and really mean a lot.

Any investment carries with it a risk in part. That is why you need to make sure everything goes as you plan, and that you make a good plan. When it comes to ensuring the value of your portfolio, you have to be aware what kind of portfolio you want to create. Knowing about monetary politics of a country is one of the primary things you have to know. Now, you should know that the inflation targeting is relatively common when it comes to settling price market. It is very important to regulate inflation itself, and thus the central bank adjusts prices as a standard measure. There is a great book by Ben Bernanke and you can find it at http://www.press.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/
