| I have been thinking about buying a house some time ago for certain amount of money. I was thinking about whether buying a house from relative is a good idea. I am really not sure, and I could get a good deal. If anyone could help, that would be great. Thanks in advance. It really means a lot. |

| Whether you will buy a house you want from your relative, or from a stranger, is pretty much same from a state's point of view. The tax you will need to pay in one case, you will have in the other, too. However, there is one advantage when buying from a relative, and that is a sort of informal protection from being tricked by a seller. Not rarely it happens that he takes a better offer in spite of your preliminary agreement, while you have already lost a lot of costs. Relatives generally do not do that too each other. If that is an important concern for you, than be free to buy from a relative. Best of luck. |
