| Can someone give me few examples of debt bondage? I need to write an essay on this topic, and I need to put in few examples, especially some modern examples, if there are any. IS there anyone who knows something about it? I would like to hear as many details as I can. I am looking forward to hear your ideas |

| Well, I really think that unfortunately, there are many very disturbing facts, even now, which you can use to illustrate your work. I think that the most shocking debt bondage is the one related to kids, which means that the kids must work to repay the debts of their parents, but in such conditions that they are never capable to actually repay the debt. This is very typical form of slavery, or else known as child labour. There are many such cases in Niger, Bangladesh, India etc. |

| I think that such cases exist in the western world too. I think that trafficking is also one form of debt bondage. This is very well known case with woman coming from Eastern Europe for example, who are forced to work so that they can repay their dept to people who helped them leave their countries. this does not exist only in the Europe, but around the world too. So, prostitution may be another example to you, one more possible to recognize by yourself. I hope you will have enough material for the essay. |
