I would like to find out how to invest money in stocks on Internet. Do I really need a stockbroker for this? How to find an online stockbroker? How would he or she be paid and what services they offer? Can I invest in something else besides shares? What do you think about flat fee offered by some providers?

When it comes to investment you could hardly do it yourself in a proper way. That's why you need a broker and I suggest that you do it. It's a person who represents a link between you and a stock market and that person has a knowledge you don't have. His or her job is to make your investment profitable because of his or her own salary. Some stock brokers work for fixed salary and some are getting a commission from their transactions, but most of them get the money in both ways. You should look for stock broker on-line and see what they offer and then, considering your investment plan, choose the suitable broker. You should also check what investments they cover because you can invest in other products, and not just shares. Usual services are divided to discount and full service. Discount service is a deal when broker just transact your trades without any advice and it's preformed by brokers who receive fixed salary for their work. Full service means that you get analysis on your investment plan and then you choose what investment you want to preform. This service asks for a higher fee, but at least you would get an advice from an expert which would prevent losing money. Flat fee is suitable for some investors, so you should see if it suits you too.
