We definitely need rain here- our reservoirs are close to out of water and forest fires are still around.

rain quit just in time for the parade. afterward we walked around the festival and had some lunch. we watched some of the competition: two-handed saw stuff, single sawing of logs. sawyer got to keep one of the log slabs. anyone know how to dry it so it doesn't crack?

You too!!! Great isn't it.
South east Oz has been in drought for the past 8 years. This morning, I'm out on my run along the creek ( a pathetic trickle) and past a couple of dried up billabongs. I heard them first; they whine in flight as they wheel around above some old trees
I'm talking about black cockie's about 10 of them (Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo's) I mentioned them in another post and how the "old one's" associate them with rain. Anyway true to form I hadn't made it half way home, when down it came.
It was so good I turned around and ran back the other way watching the creek gradually start to run. By the time I turned for home I was running in mud up to my hocks. Beautifull !!!
SEND IT DOWN HUEY

No rain here so maybe now I can finally put down some weed killer in my flower beds (to lazy to pull the weeds) and finish putting a second coat of paint on my shutters and rake up pine needles in my lawn and finally maybe even mow it.

Don't even talk about rain. The rain started Sunday morning and it is still drizzling. Sad We got over 10 inches on Monday! Officially, the NWS recorded 7.20 in a 24hr period. That shattered the old Indiana record set over 100 years ago (was around 6 inches)!

We even had a possible tornado in the midst of it yesterday.

They are calling for 60% or greater chance of rain through tomorrow. Sad I will admit though, I almost took my sailboat out in the front yard yesterday. Smile One of several things that stopped me was how the rain was coming down harder then I could have bailed water out of the boat.

Yes, I missed an opportunity to chase. We didn't even have a thunderstorm watch out. I learned later that we had a thunderstorm warning around that time. I also learned today that the sirens did go off in town. However, I live so far out of town that I don't hear the sirens.
