Yay!!! I've been offered the academic librarian position at Michiana College! The schedule is kind of wacky, but I'll have wed. afternoons off, fridays will be a normal work day, and the other three days are a split shift, ......so I can run in the middle of the day! Am I the only one who actually looks at work schedules before taking a job and thinks, hmmm, how is running going to fit into this. Shocked

Smile,

Shelly

South Bend, Indiana. It's about 30 miles from my town. The school is a tech school, and most of the students are not the traditional student. When I was an ESL teacher, I worked with all types of students and it really is fun...interesting.

that's part of the job, developing a collection that meets the needs of both the students and the professors. If I were at a bigger university, I'd be doing much more indepth reference. Because of the nature of the university, bibliographic instruction, teaching students how to find information and appropriate information, will be a big part of the job. Then there's all the admin. stuff.
