| I have a contracting firm of my own. A couple of my colleagues have been hiring illegals lately. Because of that, they can bid with lower prices. I've been in doubt about that for a while. Should I hire illegal workers or not? Does anybody have some advice about it? |

| I also have a contracting firm and I don't hire illegal workers. When I've been consulting some older colleagues about that they all have told me I shouldn't do that. Illegal workers do work for much lower wages. However, I think that the quality of their work is also much lower. If you did not know, the penalties for hiring illegals are enormous. The officials can even permanently close a firm that has been hiring illegals. They can take away your license for doing the job as a contractor. If you have all that in mind I think you also will not be hiring illegals. It is better to lose a job from time to time then losing a firm permanently. |
