| My friend recently told me about some ideas regarding the online communication. It seemed to us those were very promising ideas, and he thought he should patent them. However, we do not know how it is done, so if anyone could help with some information, it would be great. Thanks in advance. |

| As you probably know, a patent is sort of a rule which government imposes to determine what ideas anyone can use, and for how long. After you make a petition, it will be determined whether the patent is worthy. However, for many years no one could patent any kind of software, or anything related to the internet. Now, it is changed by a series of court decision. Several tens of thousands of patents are now waiting to be ratified. You can go to http://www.csbsju.edu/cfe/resources/newideas.htm and follow the link to the U.S. copyright office. There you can contact them and find out everything you need to know more precisely. |
