How do I close a bank account?

| Please help! I have split up with my boyfriend a while ago and I am desperately wanting to close the joint account we have. I am afraid he will just misuse the account in some way and perhaps build up debts We are hardly on speaking terms anymore, I am afraid. How should I go about closing the account? |

| Hi. The only way to close a joint bank account is to appear at the local branch of your bank in person. That means, you and your ex boyfriend together. You will need to phone him and ask him to come, because I know from experience that it is impossible to close such an account on your own. I know it is a bit tricky in your situation but you will have to bite your lip and get on with it good luck! |
