| I find some great stuff on the eBay. When I make my first bid, I was afraid how high the price will go. However, nobody else makes a bid so I already saw myself buying those goods. But only five seconds before closing time somebody makes a 5 cents greater bid then mine, and outbid me like that. I was so angry because of that sneaky way to get yourself what you want. How do you increase bids on your offer? Is it legal for bidders to outbid at the last moment? |

| You are not alone with your problem. Bidding at the last moment is well known as snipping and is widely used on eBay. There is even snipping software, which takes care of auctions which you want to snip. Snipers are a disease and nobody see any good from them except themselves. Everybody else loses like bidder who loses the stuff he wants. A person who offers their stuff for bidding loses money because first price is obviously lower then the real one because you should reach the real price through a bidding process. However, sniper goes around the bidding process and gets stuff for much smaller prices then real. The eBay is also losing because their commissions are also lower when the stuff is selling for the lower prices then the real one. Because of that, some new bidding services like Sitepoint prevent snipping. They establish a new rule that whenever the time last bid was made auctions automatically prolong for another four hours. |
