How does debt consolidation loan works?

Hi! In recent time I had many problems related with my financial life. I made some very big debts and I don't know how to get out of these problems. I can't think anymore and it is very hard to concentrate on my work. I heard that there is a possibility for debt consolidation. Because I don’t know anything about this matter is it possible that you explain to me how does debt consolidation loan works?

When they have some debts people usually get involved in bigger problems. They get in another debt in order to cover the old one and so on. They are even taking different credit cards in order to repay the debt. Unfortunately this way they only loose control over their money and they don't even know how much money they owe. Because of these problems banks have developed debt consolidation loan. This financial program has been made to gather all the debts in one. This way you get only one interest rate and this interest rate should be much smaller than the old ones. You will also know exactly how much you owe and this way you are going to be able to plan your repayment strategy.
