How influence is Dalal Street in Asia stock exchange?

| A friend told me that Dalal Street is to India what Wall Street is to New York City. I was wondering how really important it is. How influence is Dalal Street in Asia stock exchange in general? Is India basically that influential? I haven’t heard that it is but it looks like it has its way of breaking through. |

| Well if I am right, that street changed its name when Bombay Stock Exchange changed its address in benefit to what is now called Dalal Street. And yes, I’ve heard of it in quite positive manner. India has its great economic aspects but they have lots of problems as a country, so standard is rather poor there. You can go and live with 50 euro for a month or more… |
