How many leading stocks are there on Tokyo Stock Exchange?

| I’d like to know something about stock exchanges and their index values. Who knows, maybe some day I will have some use out of that. At the moment I’m reading about Tokyo Stock Exchange, that is TSE, and I’d like to know how many leading stocks are there on Tokyo Stock Exchange. I hope that I have posed the question correctly. |

| I know that there is that famous stock exchange index from TSE and that is Nikkei. It would be too complicated for me to try to explain you what it means and how it is calculated, but I know that it has something to do with the value of Yen and stocks. Anyway, besides Nikkei, there is another index and its name is Topix – Tokyo stock Price Index. It is equally important as Nikkei but I have no idea whether they are calculated by taking into consideration the same parameters. This index is used for tracking domestic companies. Everything connected with stock exchange and stuff is I think a way too complicated for an average Joe. |
