How many people do actually own their own homes?

| Hello everybody. I have a class assignment to write a paper about real estate market and home ownership in UK. What I’d like to know is how many people do actually own their own homes? I’m asking that because I know that so many people nowadays take loans and mortgages for property purchase and, legally, they own part or none of their homes. |

| Hi there. Issue that you’re writing about can be really interesting, especially nowadays when, like you’ve said, people legally don’t own their own homes, or live in rented flats and houses. I read an article about that where it says that currently 68% of people live in their own homes. The remaining part, 32%, lives in rented or some other type of accommodation. However, number of home owners is increasing as time goes by. You could visit some statistics office, or check on-line, to see some more accurate date. Good luck with you assignment. Bye! |
