How to add partners to an LLC?

| I have been asked how to add partners to a Limited Liability Company. The meaning of this is not clear to me... I always understood that LLCs have shareholders and directors. And therefore you cannot add partners. Isn't that right? Can someone please clarify this? Thanks very much for your comments. |

| You are quite right. Partners could only be added to a partnership - whether with limited liability or not. Therefore you have to return to your client and ask him to clarify his question. Is he talking about a partnership or a corporation? Or does he want to add the wrong person to the wrong type of corporate body?? |
