I have been asked how to add partners to a Limited Liability Company. The meaning of this is not clear to me... I always understood that LLCs have shareholders and directors. And therefore you cannot add partners. Isn't that right? Can someone please clarify this? Thanks very much for your comments.

You are quite right. Partners could only be added to a partnership - whether with limited liability or not. Therefore you have to return to your client and ask him to clarify his question. Is he talking about a partnership or a corporation? Or does he want to add the wrong person to the wrong type of corporate body??
