I have been looking into commodity pools, and the role that a Commodity Trading Advisor plays in the investment decisions for these pools. The role is one that appeals to me. Are there perhaps any Commodity Trading Advisor here? Could you tell me how to become a Commodity Trading Advisor?

First of all, a Commodity Trading Advisor does not have to be a single individual but it can be a firm as well. In order to be a competent Commodity Trading Advisor you need to be able to give the right advice, which in turn requires a financial background of course. Would you like to become a Commodity Trading Advisor? What do you do now?

Take a look at the Commodity Exchange Act. Commodity Trading Advisors or, also known by their abbreviation of CTAs, have to be registered according to the requirements of this act. I am not sure what those requirements are, but I have heard they are very strict. Good luck with everything!
