How to decrease high costs of living?

We are facing every day even higher and higher costs of leaving. There were times I had to live from paycheck to paycheck and I don’t have such nice memories of those days. Once in a while I try to make a list of items and actions to cut off my expenses and sometimes it works. I wonder if it is possible to decrease high costs of living.

I’m afraid that we don’t have influence on the global economy and all we can do is to try cut off our expenses and try to save on daily basis. It sounds silly but we should carry around a notebook and note every spending we make. We should give our best to reduce energy losses and try saving on gas. In order to have some saved money for rainy days, maybe we should give up of extravagant life we might live and start purchasing on sales.
