I have had to pay outrageous charges for a bounced cheque recently and was quite angry about this. Now I have heard that there is some way to recover these charges, although I don't know how to go about that at all. Can you point me in the right direction please? That would be great.
First of all, try going to you local bank branch in person and asking them for the charges back. They will refuse, of course, at which point you tell them that you have got legal advice, and have a basis for suing them. Then ask again, and follow up with a letter. If they still don't budge, you always have the possibility of really going on to sue.
