The universe is expanding at the speed of light - so, from a practical standpoint - it is infinite

You mean I won't fall off if I sail too close to the edge of the world?

Dammit, I hate when my parents lie to me. I suppose the Tooth Fairy isn't real either, is she?

Think of it as a giant balloon expanding at the speed of light. - because the balloon is expanding so fast, we are trapped inside of it and cannot even get to the edge - and don't even ask what's on the other side of the balloon, because that question doesn't make sense.
Why? because the "other side" does not exist yet - space and time are interchangeable -so as time moves forward, space is created.
