| We are for a while already planning to open our own business. We have most things planned and now want to register our company name, which we have also chosen. The question is how this is done? What if someone already operates under the same name? Can we still register it for our business? |

| When you go to register your business you have to supply the name under which it will work. This is not a separate process but rather an integral step when registering your company overall. If another company is already using your chosen name, you will have to come up with something else. There are so many names out there. You are most likely to succeed in one go if you choose a name in Latin, or two surnames. Good luck. |

No you cannot start a business when someone is operating in that name. You
have to register your business with your towns municipality(for small business) and also need a notary agreement on the location etc. There are also certain fees you have to pay. |

| As a staring point I would suggest trying to purchase a domain name with a .com ending.... Then go to the state you are in a reserve the name as a DBA or fictitious name... later you can upgrade and become a Corporation... See my website for more details. |
