I am wondering whether you can help me solve the following issue. I am trying to understanding the tax implications of an ex council house, which my parents jointly own with myself. When the remainder of the property passes over to me when they pass away, how will the IHT be charged? Thanks.

That sounds like a complicated one to me. I have just asked one of my mates who usually has the asnwer to this kind of thing, but without any luck this time I am afraid. The best thing you can do is to call the IHT helpline. You can find the number somewhere on the web, I am sure.
