| I have an account with HSBC since 1999, and I have a solo debit card. Now I would like to upgrade my HSBC debit card to a Maestro card. I have a regular income about 1000 pounds per month. Bank also approved me 400 pounds overdraft limit, and 1800 pound credit limit. I also have a cheque book and I wasn't in any problems with this account from the beginning. Can I do that? |

| If you want to know are you qualified for the Maestro card you will have to go to the bank. Or you have the choice to ring the telephone banking and ask. They will answer you with straight yes or no, and you don't need to credit search. From my own experience, the thing that everybody forgets about their internal credit score is heavy use of cashpoint machines. That really can heart your credit score a lot. That is because they get very suspicious when they don't know where the money is going. But, I think, another reason is that the other kind of transactions are more profitable for the bank. Anyway, I've heard that HSBC is the bank with the greatest consumer service. I've been told that they are the most wiling to help you with upgrading accounts, so I think you got a fair chance. |
