| Hello. I am about to start a consultancy business which I will run on a "work when needed" basis. I am wondering whether you could help me with some info on individual VAT registration as I will be the only person involved in the business. What are the benefits of registration? Should I or should I not? |

| I would advise you against doing so. What you are mentioning is a very small company that might or might not earn money. VAT registration bring a lot of red tape with it - as well as expenses not to forget. Obviously your turnover will be nowhere near the threshold for obliged registration. Stay away, I would say. |
