I must rent a place, since I’m starting my school and I have no place for living. This was final solution, my financial situation is not really great, and I would like to save every penny. I’ve found a great location, even the price is not too bad, but there is this issue of deposit. Is deposit necessary when renting a house? That house has room for at least 4 students and it would be too bad for me to waste such opportunity over deposit which I simply can’t pay right now.

I don’t think that you really have to pay for it, unless a person who is going to rent a place insists on that. Perhaps you can count on his good will? Deposit in this case is really a good solution, I used to rent my flat and you can’t even imagine what are tenants capable to leave behind!
