I have got a theoretical question for you on a subject that we probably all have got an opinion about - insurance. From my experience with different insurers, I know that when you need them, they are not always prepared to pay out even though they should. This can cause a lot of hassle. Is it better for the insured to have several insurers?

I have got only one insurer, for all my different insurance policies. For me, this is a handy one stop shop and to be honest I have never thought that it would be an advantage to do it any other way. In the situation you mention, you'd have to negotiate with lots of insurers, instead of with only one.

I think that you are making a very good point, and I am well be looking into doing just what you are talking about. Like spreading a portfolio on the stock market, having a bit of diversity in insurance may increase your odds of things going your way. And what have you done yourself?
