I am interested if there are some limits for family gifts when it comes to inheritance and CG tax. I heard that some CGT can be escaped for transferring property to children as a gift so I wonder what the limits in value are. Any one knows something about this topic? If so I’d like to hear your opinions.

You can avoid capital gain tax if you are transferring property such as real estates to your children. But I don’t think that you can escape from inheritance tax but I think that you can keep out from gift tax if you give away 12,000 per year to as many individuals you want including family.
