| Dear everyone. I have split up with my boyfriend not too long ago and I am now trying to oversee the consequences of our relationship. Not only emotial ones, but also financial... Among other things we have a shared personal loan and this greatly irritates me. It means I will now have to wait for my ex to put his share of the repayment into my account every month. Can I modify the loan to be only in his name? I will gave him my share of the loan straight away. |

| That might be possible, but it calls for very clear agreements. You can either give him the amount in full and leave him to pay off the loan, or alternatively you could pay off the loan in full and then your boyfriend will owe you the money instead of you both owing the bank. You will have to regulate this through a contract. I am not sure if there are any third or fourth options... Maybe someone else here has another idea? |
