| Hi. I have recently applied for a certain bank account, which charges fees. I had no doubt at all that I would be accepted. But it did not pan out like that sadly. I got turned down for the account and they told me, at the bank, that this was due to a credit check carried out by the credit scoring agency Experian. I am wondering whether other banks use different methods and have different scores? What is the difference between the credit scoring agencies? |

| I am afraid not! I am always surprised at all these comments from people excepting some kind of honest approach towards them from the credit scoring agencies. This is not the reality of things. In fact, I would say that all the agencies communicate amongst themselves, and that they have clever and thought out ways of determining your score. This includes taking into account the spending behaviour of your family, although they would never admit to this. |
