| Hello. You have heard well. In UK Stamp Duty is connected to documents. This stamp duty can be attached or impressed on a document. For most areas, this duty was abolished in 2003. But there are some exceptions. Some of them are: transfer of securities and shares, the issue of bearer instruments, etc. Stamp duty was replaced with stamp duty land tax in other areas. It isn’t a new stamp duty. It is a kind of transfer tax. If you want to know something more, don’t hesitate to ask me. I hope I’ve helped you a little. |
