We are opening a new company in the very near future and we are really busy in getting everything that we need together for everything to be completed on time! Some of it is very confusing though! I know that we still need to do the excise tax registration but I am not sure how! Please help!

Hello there! I know that setting up a new business is always stressful. And particularly those tax things are horrible to deal with. But an excise tax registration does not have to be complicated. Just ask the HM Customs and Revenue for the forms. They will even help you complete them if needed.

Talking about an excise tax registration, I would really like to know which companies have to have one and which companies do not need a excise tax registration. I think that it is not compulsory, and that there are different factors depending on which you need one, right? Please clarify.

Yes, it depends on the nature of your business whether or not you need a excise tax registration. The things that you do need to register for are mentioned on the website of the HMRC. They mainly include things like alcohol, gambling and tobacco. I hope that helps in answering your question?
