| I was wondering what is better to overpay mortgage or to invest. Isnt paying off mortgage investing in the property market anyway? My calculating shows that it is impossible to earn while saving and gives green light to overpaying the mortgage, but Im not sure how things work with investments? Can investments be profitable too? |

| Paying off mortgages is not connected with investments. When you overpay your mortgage you just pay off your debt without investing. Performing investments is a tricky job; there is a possibility to lose money if you perform badly. Investing is based upon buying properties (as a buy to let preferably) not paying off existing property. Overpaying mortgage sometimes can bring penalties, especially if it is fixed or discount rate deal. |
