I own some shares in pretty stabile company. Every year I receive dividend. But still I get pretty confused about those taxes. My wife always bothers me about that. In her opinion I have chosen a wrong shares because I owe such an amount of taxes. Can anyone clarify situation with paying taxes on profits from shares?

It really all depends on type of shares you buy. If you have shares in equity fund dividend income from funds which are equity oriented is tax-free. When you are in debt fund it isnt so simple. You must calculate and make balance between dividend distribution tax and tax for capital gain. I cant give you specific solution because i dont know all the facts about your shares. The best thing is to ask your financial advisor.
