My wife and I have some shares for almost ten years. Until recently we were quite satisfied with dividends, but last week we attended a dinner party with some friends and all they were talking about was how to invest in something more lucrative. Now, we want to do the same and I wonder what the best investment for our asset allocation is. Our friends from that dinner party want to invest in real estates, is this idea really that good?

Asset allocation is something that serious investors do very often. The idea of asset allocation is based on market research and the fact that various investments make different profit in long term planning. Your friends might be right, but it depends on their information and their knowledge of lucrative investments at present time. Before making a decision you should consider all the facts and especially current situation on the market. One thing is definitely sure, real estate investments could definitely make satisfactory profit, but you must be aware that it also may be risky and that it might take some time before bringing in profit.
