Hello. My wife and I have decided to go and live abroad when we retire. We are not sure where yet, either Spain, Italy or France somewhere warmer then the UK in any case! Perhaps we could find a nice place by the sea somewhere, where we can have a really lovely retirement. What are the things we need to know? We both will get occupational pensions, will we still be entitled if we live in another country? Fortunately we still have some time to sort everything out, as we wont retire for another five years.

That sounds lovely! You will certainly still get your state pensions, and your occupation pensions should not be effected either. Cant you just get in touch with your pension provider to ask them about the conditions? I thought you might also like to know that the Foreign and Commonwealth office has a website dedicated to retiring abroad. It explains everything you need to sort out before you leave, and what you are entitled to tax-wise and so on. All the best!
